a-ha add London date to 2018 live acoustic tour

Legendary Norwegian band a-ha will be bringing their stripped back set to London’s O2.

a-ha are currently gearing up to create their follow-up to 2015’s Cast in Steel, which sees them record the acoustic tracks live on stage in June 2017.

They then plan to follow the record with a series of similarly acoustic and stripped back live dates, including a newly announced show at London’s O2 on Wednesday 14 February 2018.

“We’ve always done unplugged stuff on each show,” Pål Waaktaar-Savoy says of the origins of the project. “but we’ve never done a full concert. So that’s going to be cool. “A lot of the songs were written [this way], we don’t really use of a lot of technology when we write.”

“It’s one of those things where it’s been on the table many times over the past fifteen years, and we’ve ended up not doing it for various reasons,” Morten Harket adds. “And it was looking like it was going that way this time as well because it just takes a lot for everyone. But we’ve now decided to do it. And it freaks us out next minute because there’s a lot of work to do.”

a-ha will already been touring through Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Norway, now adding the London date to the tour.

Until the acoustic tour reaches the UK, why not refresh your a-ha love with their first ever UK No.1 single, The Sun Always Shines On TV.
