Good Charlotte have been announced as Slam Dunk Festival’s joint headliner with Jimmy Eat World. 2018 will mark the festival’s debut by both highly influential bands.

The line-up will also see PVRIS, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Creeper, Thursday, Every Time I Die, Knuckle Puck, Crown The Empire and Real Friends perform sets across the May Bank Holiday weekend.

They join the previously announced Taking Back Sunday, Sleeping With Sirens, Four Year Strong, State Champs and Trash Boat across the festival’s eight stages.

Slam Dunk Festival, which recently took home the Best Metropolitan Festival honour at the UK Festival Awards 2017, runs from the 26 – 28 May 2018, taking place for one day at each of the three venues. 2018 will see the South site move to Hatfield Park, having previously taken place at the University of Hertfordshire.

The North site stays as Leeds City Centre, and the Midlands returns to National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

The latest announcement includes the UK return by Thursday, who disbanded in 2011 and played the first ever Slam Dunk Festival in 2007. “From the very first moment Thursday started playing shows again, we began to ask each other, ‘How can we get back to the UK?!’ Well, we have finally found a way,” the band’s Geoff Rickly says. “We’re very happy to be joining some of our oldest friends at Slam Dunk and we have a bunch of surprises still in store. See you soon. Stay tuned.”
