GoldLink releases new album Diaspora ahead of UK tour
The rapper comes to the UK in November 2019.
Grammy-nominated rapper GoldLink has dropped his new album Diaspora, shortly after confirming details of a brand new run of headline dates.
The newly announced tour kicks off in Dublin on the 13 November 2019, before heading to Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London.
The record features the previously released Joke Ting featuring Ari PenSmith, U Say alongside rap icon Tyler, The Creator and Jay Prince, and Zulu Screams featuring Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly.
GoldLink performed Zulu Screams live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon shortly before dropping his new album last night.
Diaspora is the follow up to GoldLink’s debut album At What Cost. At What Cost received rave reviews, with Rolling Stone placing the album at No.19 on their 40 Best Rap Albums of 2017 list.
The album’s lead single Crew, featuring Brent Faiyaz and Shy Glizzy, has been streamed over 170 million times on Spotify, and the track was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
Born D’Anthony Carlos in Washington D.C, the musician first garnered mainstream attention in 2013 when he started uploading tracks to Soundcloud under the GoldLink moniker.
His debut mixtape The God Complex dropped in 2014, receiving praise from the likes of Clash, Spin, Pitchfork and Complex, as well as attracting the attention of mega-producer Rick Rubin.
The rapper followed up The God Complex with his After That, We Didn’t Talk Much mixtape, and soon after inked a record deal with Sony Music imprint RCA.
In 2018, the rapper featured on the Christina Aguilera single Like I Do, taken from her most recent album Liberation. The collaboration earned GoldLink his second Grammy Award nomination.
The rapper will come to the UK later this year, in celebration of his new album, Diaspora.
