Gerard Way debuts new songs before Brixton date

Gerard Way has been treating fans to two new tracks while on tour in Europe this week.

The former My Chemical Romance frontman is currently on the road in support of his debut album, Hesitant Alien.

At a show in Paris, Way performed the unreleased songs – Don’t Try and Kid Nothing – as part of his encore, suggesting he’ll play them again when he headlines London’s O2 Brixton Academy later this week.

“When I write new albums I tend to write the first two songs and see where the rest takes me,” Way explained on Twitter. “So there is a song that is supposed to come before Kid Nothing, which is pretty much all ready to go, just finishing lyrics. Expect to hear these in London.”

The now-iconic musician has also hinted at having guest performers join him at the Brixton date on Friday.
