Five times Charli XCX made the wait for Sucker (almost) bearable
After what seems like forever, Charli XCX’s Sucker finally gets a UK release on Monday. It’s been a grueling wait, but luckily Charli is a premier popstar and kept us entertained through the long winter.
Music blogger Ali Shutler rounds up Charli XCX’s best album teaser moments…
Somewhere between the Spice Girls and the Sex Pistols, we have Charli XCX. Nowhere is this more obvious than her live performance at the 2014 AMAs. From the dainty high school prom of Boom Clap, straight into the decadence and destruction of Break The Rules, this is the stuff of dreams and nightmares.

In fact, the only way these songs could be more exotic is if they were sung in a foreign language. Oh, wait.
Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off gave Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s Fancy a run for the Pop Song of 2014 crown. To show there’s no bad blood, Charli put her own spin on Swifty’s #Banger for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
It’s not all carnage and cover songs though. Her live performance of Need Ur Love on Letterman shows that she’s far more than just an incredible songwriter; she’s got the vocal range to knock those hooks out of the glitzy park.

As way of apology for the constant delays, Charli jazzed up Doing It with a little help from Rita Ora. As the saying goes, the only thing better than one popstar, is two. The video is a playful romp through Thelma and Louise in Spice World but the pinnacle is this expression.
Tickets for Charli XCX’s long overdue UK tour are on sale now.
Get fancy.
