NEOLUV are bringing two of global soul sensations to London’s The O2 for a very special show.
Stateside singer-songwriter and producer Erykah Badu will be teaming up with Los Angeles born vocalist Jhene Aiko for a one-off UK show on Sunday 9 June 2019.
Badu dropped her hugely acclaimed and highly influential debut Baduizm in 1997, including breakthrough On & On. Her career since includes hits such as Bag Lady and Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop) on which she teamed up with multi-award winner Common.
Erykah Badu last released New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) in 2010, and has since collaborated with a wealth of artists across soul and RnB. In 2013 she teamed up with Janelle Monáe on Q.U.E.E.N. featured on Monáe’s The Electric Lady LP.
The last few years have seen Badu drop her But You Caint Use My Phone mixtape, as well as tease the eagerly anticipated sixth studio album. Making various live appearances and regularly hosting the Soul Train Music Awards, Badu has also dipped into the world of film, this year appearing in What Men Want.
Jhene Aiko first found fame as part of the wider B2K family, an American boyband who broke through with 2001’s Uh Huh.
Emerging as an artist in her own right in 2011, Aiko went on to release her debut full-length Souled Out three years later, immediately cementing the artist as one of the driving voices in contemporary RnB.
Trip, her sophomore full-length, followed in 2017, also reaching the Top 5 on the official US album chart. More recently, Aiko joined the likes of Lana Del Rey and Beyoncé & Jay-Z on their live tours.
At the start of 2018, she unveiled the video for Sativa featuring Rae Sremmurd.
Both Erykah Badu and Jhene Aiko will take to London’s The O2 for a very special evening.
