Editors announce 2020 UK tour

Editors have announced details of a forthcoming UK headline tour.

The run of dates kick off in the band’s hometown of Birmingham on Thursday 27 February 2020, before heading to London, Manchester and Glasgow.

The new tour is in support of the band’s forthcoming best of album Black Gold, due for release on 25 October 2019.

Black Gold is the forthcoming best of album from the Birmingham-formed rockers.

The album will contain 13 tracks taken from Editors’ six studio albums, alongside three brand new tunes: Upside Down, Frankenstein and the album’s title track Black Gold. 

The three new songs were produced by the Grammy Award-winning Garrett “Jacknife” Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, REM, The Killers), who also produced Editors’ sophomore album An End Has a Start. Watch the official video for Frankenstein below:

Editors first broke through in 2005 with their debut album The Back Room. The LP was a commercial and critical success and earned the band a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

The band’s album back catalogue is completed with 2007’s An End Has a Start, 2009’s In This Light and on This Evening, 2013’s The Weight of Your Love, 2015’s In Dream and their latest release, 2018’s Violence. 

Some of the band’s best-known tracks include Bullets, Munich, Papillon, An End Has A Start and Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors, all of which appear on their upcoming best of album.

Editors will hit the road in February 2020 in support of their new best of album Black Gold.

28 February 2020 – The SSE Arena Wembley, London
29 February 2020 – O2 Apollo Manchester
3 March 2020 – Barrowland, Glasgow
