Duran Duran announce a headline show at Chelmsford City Live
The Birmingham pop rockers join a lineup packed with other big names this July
Essex’s new live music festival will see 30,000 people per day pack out Chelmsford City Racecourse across a weekend in July, with Duran Duran just announced as Saturday’s headliner. The band will play one of just two UK shows in 2025 at the festival, joined by Nile Rodgers & CHIC, with whom they have previously collaborated on No.1 single ‘The Reflex’.
Duran Duran join previously announced headliners Justin Timberlake, who will take to the main stage at the brand-new festival on Friday 4 July, and Olly Murs, who plays a huge homecoming show on Sunday 6 July.
Formed in 1978, Duran Duran have sold over 100 million records worldwide and landed 21 UK Top 20 hits over the course of their career. Their latest album, Danse Macabre, was released in 2023, from which the band will play new hits, alongside old favourites like ‘Girls on Film’, ‘The Wild Boys’ and ‘Rio.’
“Duran Duran are global icons, so we are delighted to be adding them to the bill for the first ever Chelmsford City Live. Their music crosses generations and it is quite the coup to be able to welcome them to Essex for one of only two shows they are headlining in the UK next summer,” said Cuffe and Taylor promoter Ben Hatton.
“Having Duran Duran and their special guests Nile Rodgers & CHIC join our already announced headliners Justin Timberlake and Olly Murs will put Chelmsford City Live well and truly on the map as Essex’s largest live music festival.”
