The Cure have been confirmed as the next headliner for British Summer Time Hyde Park; a series of huge standalone shows in the heart of London. Taking to the outdoor stage on Saturday 7 July 2018, they’ll be joined by special guests Interpol, Goldfrapp, Ride, Editors, Slowdive, The Twilight Sad, and many more to be announced.

The Cure formed in 1976 by a teenage Robert Smith in Crawley, Sussex, going on to become one of the most influential and distinctive bands in the UK. Releasing their first song in 1978, they’ve since played around 1,500 concerts across 40 years, bringing their iconic post-punk and rock to the masses.

Starting with A Forest in 1980, the band have released iconic music such as Boys Don’t Cry, The Lovecats, Inbetween Days, Close To Me, Just Live Heaven, Friday I’m In Love and many more.

The artists have released thirteen albums to date, from 1979’s Three Imaginary Boys to 2008’s 4:13 Dream.

They’ve been credited as an influence on a range of genres, from post-punk and alternative rock, to gothic rock and emo.

Robert Smith, Simon Galluip, Jason Copper, Roger O’Donnell and Reeves Gabrels will celebrate their legacy at Hyde Park on Saturday 7 July.
