Dan Snaith aka Caribou has announced details of a brand new headline tour.
The new run of dates kicks off in Brighton on 30 March 2020, before heading to Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol and London.
The news coincides with the release of the electronic musician’s brand new track Home.
His first new music in five years, Home premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World and is available to listen to on streaming services now.
On the new song, which features a sample of the Gloria Barnes track Home. Snaith comments: “I’m always listening to lots of music and sometimes a loop just jumps out at me – it’s too perfect. That’s how it was with Gloria Barnes’ Home – I kept returning to it, meaning to do something with it but not knowing what”.
He continues: “Sometimes making music feels like a process I’m in charge of… but there other times, when things just present themselves and my job is to follow their lead. It wasn’t until the circumstances of someone close to me mirrored the refrain of the original song that the track all came together”.
The new song is the first piece of new music that Caribou has released since his widely well-received sixth studio album Our Love.
Dropping in 2014, the album was a hit with critics, with The Guardian, NME, Mixmag and Loud & Quiet all including the release in their end of year best-of lists.
