The 13 date UK and Ireland tour kicks off in March 2019.
BBC presenter Anita Rani will host next year’s Blue Planet II – Live In Concert tour, kicking off in Bournemouth on the 13 March 2019.
Rani co-presents the hugely popular BBC One series Countryfile, and well as regularly appearing on the channel’s One Show. The 2015 Strictly Come Dancing contestant has also presented programmes including Bollywood: The World’s Biggest Film Industry and long-running series Watchdog.
“I am really honoured to have the role of host on the Blue Planet II Live In Concert arena tour,” Anita Rani announces. “The TV series was such a fantastic and enlightening show and has really empowered society to view our oceans and environment with a great deal more care. I can’t wait to stand on stage with an 80-piece orchestra and huge screen showing some of that incredible Blue Planet II footage, it should be an amazing experience!”
Blue Planet II – Live In Concert will featured the music score by Bleeding Fingers Music, composed by the legendary Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and David Fleming. The music will be performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Freeman.
Clips from the BAFTA Award winning BBC One series will be projected on a state of the art 4K Ultra HD LED screen, accompanied by Zimmer, Shae and Fleming’s compositions.
“The idea is to depict the abundance of life as well as the movements and vibrations of the ocean,” the hugely acclaimed Hans Zimmer said of composing the music. “By using the orchestra in an unconventional way, we wanted to create ‘living’ chords that ebb and flow throughout the series.”
Footage includes the infamous Tusk fish, the Crag and Eel rock pool chase, the Sea Lion tuna hunt, and much more.
The Blue Planet II TV show was watched by over 37 million people, making it the most viewed TV programme of 2017 in the United Kingdom.
The crew travelled to 39 countries to capture the footage, spending over 6,000 hours deep sea diving.
