Don’t miss the last week of Hallowed Peak
Phantom Peak's creative director, Nick Moran, tells visitors what to expect in the final few days of the Hallowed Peak season
For lovers of the macabre, strange and spooky all year round, the final week of Phantom Peak‘s Hallowed Peak is where you need to be. Promising to deliver an immersive experience unlike any other, the Hallowed Peak season builds on previous lore from prior seasons, introducing new characters and quests for visitors to discover. Gather the troops, get your thinking caps on, and enjoy this platypus-themed steampunk ghost town for one final week of spooky treats before its all-famous Wintermas season. Need more convincing? Look no further. We caught up with Phantom Peak’s Creative Director, Nick Moran, to discuss all things Hallowed Peak in its final week.
What should visitors look out for in the Halloween season of Phantom Peak?
It’s the Lunar Festival! We are always celebrating a festival at Phantom Peak, and this one is all about the Church of the Cosmic Platypus. You know, the one that has wings and flies through space? There are also three murders, some shapeshifters, and a rogue chocolate factory running a marketing campaign to win a tour of their factory.
Will we meet new characters and learn more about the Hallowed Peak this season?
Absolutely. All of the favourites are back, including Mayor Pocket and Dr Winter. And we also have Copper – the owner of the Thirsty Frontier Saloon – back from JONACO’s 5-star prison. So they’ve got lots of stories to tell from their time there. All of the 10 trails are fun yet intriguing, and will give guests lots to discover!
Are there new collectibles and merchandise for Phantom Peak fans?
We’ve got 10 new collectible trail cards when you complete the storylines, new crocheted platypuses, t-shirts, pins and magnets. They’ve been so popular that we’ve had to keep restocking them! The pins in particular are great – we’ve seen a lot of our most dedicated fans start trading them.
How does this season’s lore build on what we learnt about the Phantom Peak world during the Starlit Summer season?
Time has moved on here at Phantom Peak. Starlit Summer was a lot of fun, and the winner of the Cabin Games launched the first unmanned rocket into space. Go JASA! And for all you naysayers, it was definitely unmanned! Nobody was on that rocket, don’t believe the rumours.
So this season we’re naturally building on all of that. Maybe we’ll see a manned mission, maybe we need to find a captain! If you visited during Starlit Summer and return again, all of the townsfolk will remember what happened so you can always ask them what they’ve been up to in between seasons.
And lastly, this may be some people’s first time visiting Phantom Peak. How should they prepare for the experience?
We always say “the more you give to Phantom Peak, the more it gives back”. So don’t overthink it! Just prepare to enjoy yourselves and not take things all that seriously here. We’ve got loads of great food and drink across the venue this season, extra games and events, so if you need a break at any time you can just chill by the waterfall or have a drink in the saloon bar.
