BTS fans most committed to seeing them at a festival
The results are in – the acts fans want to see top the festival bill.
Festival headliners are often the most highly-anticipated announcements of the spring and summer months, with fans eagerly awaiting the news before choosing which festival to attend. For many, the headliners alone are enough to swing the vote, and the results of our State of Play research reflect that pop, rock and hip-hop artists rank as most popular.
Yet following their two recent sold-out Wembley Stadium shows – that’s 90,000 capacity a night – South Korean pop sensation BTS have proven that they’ve got the most dedicated fans in the business, and their Army are the most committed to see the boys headline a UK festival in the future.
Breakthrough sensation Billie Eilish, veterans Ed Sheeran and Rihanna can also boast about a heavily dedicated fanbase, yet it is Coldplay who once again top the ultimate dream headliner list having also sat comfortably at No.1 back in 2012.
With the names on the list changing from similar surveys, expect new headliners to climb through the ranks in the coming years. Both new and old dominate the list of fan favourites, with a handful of high-profile reunions thrown in for good measure. Plenty are awaiting the return of Oasis to festival stages, although the true likelihood of this remains to be seen.
