Interview: Jason Byrne on his Wrecked But Ready tour

The comedian discusses why he enjoys performing live so much.

Award-winning comedian Jason Byrne is currently bringing good-natured chaos to the nation on his brand new Wrecked But Ready tour.

His most personal show to date, Wrecked But Ready sees Jason dissecting an extremely testing year live on stage and is filled with the spontaneous shenanigans Jason is known for.

In the interview above, Jason discusses his love of performing live and why he enjoys getting the audience getting involved.

Described by The Times as “the outright king of live comedy”, Jason Byrne has been in the stand-up game for 23 years, completing numerous sell out tours across the UK and has performed worldwide in cities such as New York, Boston, Hong Kong, Paris and Sydney.

An Edinburgh Fringe favourite, the Dublin-born comic has been nominated for both the Perrier Best Newcomer Award and the Perrier Award.

Alongside his stand-up career, Byrne’s television credits include appearances on Live at The Apollo, Dave’s One Night Stand, The Channel 4 Comedy Gala and John Bishop’s Only Joking.

The comedian also hosted three series of The Jason Byrne Show on BBC Radio 2, where he won a prestigious Sony Radio Gold Award for best comedy.
