Our weekly round up of this week's biggest new tours, shows and events.
A brand new immersive experience is set to open its doors in London from September 2019, bringing Jordan Belfort’s 2007 memoir The Wolf Of Wall Street to life.
Created by the Olivier Award wining producers of London’s longest running immersive theatre production The Great Gatsby, The Wolf Of Wall Street will follow the tale of the infamous New York stockbroker whose almost unbelievable exploits became a multi-Academy Award nominated film back in 2013.
A stock-market millionaire at the age of 26, and a federal convict a decade later, Belfort was making thousands of dollars a minute at the height of his career before his equally fast-paced social life, corruption and fraud led to his criminal conviction.
The theatre production is directed by Alexander Wright, who also led the charge on The Great Gatsby among others, with design by Ciaran Bagnall. It promises to place the audience at the centre of the heart-racing story, from his ascent to power to his ultimate downfall.
The Wolf Of Wall Street will take over the Central London location on Sun Street, close to Liverpool Street Station, spreading the action across four floors and immersing audiences in the turbulent world of Jordan Belfont. Visitors will be offered the choice to become a Master of the Universe with the brokers who upturned Wall Street, or to help the FBI to bring down the modern criminal entrepreneurs.
The production opens on Thursday 5 September 2019, currently booking until 19 January 2020.
The Wolf Of Wall Street was adapted into a film of the same name, directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Terence Winter, and starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort.
The film was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for DiCaprio’s depiction of the criminal stockbroker.
