Producers have announced two special concert performances of The Secret Garden, the award-winning musical based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic novel.

The performances will take place at 15:00 and 19:30 on Saturday 4 April 2020 at The London Palladium.

The classic children’s tale has been re-imagined by composer Lucy Simon and the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman.

The concerts are set to star Lucie Jones, Ramin Karimloo and Jac Yarrow, and will be directed by Nick Winston.

Lucie Jones is currently starring as Jenna in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre. The Cardiff-born actor’s theatre credits also include A Christmas Carol, Legally Blonde, RENT The Musical and Les Misérables.

Ramin Karimloo’s theatre credits include Chess, The Phantom Of The Opera, Evita, the Broadway production of Les Misérables – for which he earned a Tony Award nomination – and Love Never Dies, which earned the actor an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor In A Musical in 2011.

Jac Yarrow made a huge splash with his West End debut earlier this year, starring as Joseph in the critically acclaimed Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat revival. The actor won 2019’s The Stage Debut Award for his performances and will reprise the role in 2020.

Producers Jamie Lambert and Eliza Jackson comment, “The Secret Garden is one of the most wonderful pieces of storytelling, and we feel so lucky to be able to present this stunning musical adaptation in a concert setting. With book by the exceptional Marsha Norman, stunning music by the beautiful Lucy Simon (who we worked with on our recent concert production of Doctor Zhivago) together with this all-star cast, this is going to be a truly extraordinary theatre experience.”

Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden was first published in 1911 and tells the story of Mary Lennox, a spoiled 10-year-old who after becoming orphaned is sent to live on her uncle’s manor in Yorkshire where she discovers a secret locked garden.

A brand new film adaptation of the book starring Colin Firth and Julie Walters is scheduled for UK release on 17 April 2020.

The London Palladium will host two concert performances of the musical adaptation The Secret Garden on Saturday 4 April 2020 at 15:00 and 19:30.

Tickets to see The Secret Garden concerts will be available from 10:00 on Thursday 12 December 2019 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
