See Alexandra Burke join the cast of Chicago
Get a behind-the-scenes peek at the songstress as she settles into her new West End role as Roxie Hart.
On 13 August 2018, pop sensation Alexandra Burke takes over the role of Roxie Hart in the West End production of Chicago. She’ll play the fabulous femme fatale in the riveting musical drama that’s won six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy.
Chicago opened at the Phoenix Theatre in April. It tells the thrilling tale of jazz slayer Hart and her cell-block rival Velma Kelly, who are trying to get away with murder while being aided by smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn.
Now a decade after winning The X Factor, Alexandra will be playing the ambitious, notorious murderess. Chicago’s sizzling score featuring classic songs like Razzle Dazzle, Cell Block Tango and All That Jazz is perfect for her incredibly strong and soulful voice.
Alexandra made her West End debut in 2014 starring as Rachel Marron in the critically acclaimed production of The Bodyguard. In 2016 she took the lead role of Deloris van Cartier in the musical Sister Act which toured the UK. Earlier this year she starred alongside Michael Ball in the London Coliseum revival of Chess.
In March Alexandra also released her third studio album, The Truth Is, featuring a host of original tracks.
Alexandra introduces herself as Roxie while giving theatre goers a taste of her new role in the video above. Watch her now and then go see her live on stage. Chicago is booking until 5 January 2019, and you can take advantage of our pay no booking fees offer until 13 September 2018.
