LA love story Rock of Ages will be reaching the Opera House Blackpool on Tuesday 2 July 2019 for a short run as part of its UK tour.
The musical includes 25 classic rock anthems, including Don’t Stop Believin’, We Built This City, The Final Countdown, Here I Go Again, Can’t Fight This Feeling and I Want To Know What Love Is.
All are performed by a live band at the theatre, and come with a warning: “Contains serious rock ‘n’ roll debauchery”.
Having played in London’s West End, on Broadway and in Las Vegas, the musical has also been transformed into a Hollywood film, starring Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones among others.
The full cast for the musical, delivering the iconic songs and music, is yet to be announced.
The announcement of Rock of Ages at the Opera House Blackpool follows the addition of Dr Doolittle for the 2019 season. They follow the 2018 season featuring Shrek The Musical, Fat Friends, Fame and more.
The Rock of Ages musical has a book by Chris D’Arienzo, with arrangements and orchestration by Ethan Popp. It is directed and choreographer for the theatre by Nick Winston, who has previously worked on the likes of Annie, The Wedding Singer and The Royal Variety Performance.
Rock Of Ages reaches the Opera House Blackpool on Tuesday 2 July 2019, running until the 6 July 2019.
Tickets for Rock Of Ages will be available from 11:00 on Thursday 15 March 2018 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
