Ever wondered how legendary tabloid newspaper The Sun was born? Imagine this: Fleet Street, 1969. The Sun rises. A young and rebellious Rupert Murdoch asks the impossible and launches The Sun’s first editor’s quest: to give the people what they want. No matter the cost.

You can now see the story of how The Sun came to be, as written by James Graham (This House, Labour of Love) and directed by Rupert Goold (King Charles III) as the hit new play transfers to the Duke of York’s Theatre for a strictly limited season.

With a cast featuring Bertie Carvel (Doctor Foster, Matilda) and Richard Coyle (The Associate, The Lover), this ruthless, red-topped new play leads with the birth of this country’s most influential newspaper.

The Daily Telegraph calls it “a play for today” and says “the blazingly talented James Graham has penned a super, soar-away smash”.

Ink will run from 9 September 2017 – 6 January 2018. You can get your tickets now via Ticketmaster.co.uk.
