Producers of the Tony Award-winning Curtains have announced that the musical will show in the West End for a limited time only this winter.

Curtains will open at London’s Wyndham’s Theatre on 13 December 2019, running for 38 performances until 11 January 2020.

The performances will mark the West End premiere of Kander and Ebb’s musical which first opened on Broadway in 2007, running until June 2008. The Broadway production was nominated for an impressive eight Tony Awards.

The producers comment: “We are incredibly proud of our show and delighted to be bringing it to the West End. The whole team have worked so hard to get the show to where it is today and we are thrilled we can show London audiences our wonderful production”.

From the creators of the award-winning Cabaret and Chicago, Curtains tells the story of Jessica Cranshaw, star of a brand new broadway-destined musical Robbin Hood, who ends up being murdered on opening night. The entire cast and crew of the show are suspects so they call in local Detective Lt. Frank Cioffi, a huge musical theatre fan, to try and solve the case.

The musical is currently delighting audiences on tour across the UK and will star comedian, actor and singer Jason Manford as Detective Lt. Frank Cioffi.

Manford is joined by Carley Stenson as Georgia Hendricks, Rebecca Lock as Carem Bernstein, Samuel Holmes as Christopher Belling, Leah Barbara West as Niki Harris, Alan Burkitt as Bobby Pepper and Andy Coxon as Aaron Fox.

The cast is completed by Emma Caffrey as Bambi Bernet, Adam Rhys-Charles as Daryl Grady, Martin Callaghan as Oscar Shapiro, Minal Patel as Johnny Harmon and Mark Sangster as Sidney Bernstein.

The forthcoming production features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Edd and book by Rupert Holmes.

The musical will be directed by Paul Foster (Kiss Me Kate, Annie Get Your Gun).

Curtains is showing at London’s Wyndham’s Theatre from 13 December 2019 until 11 January 2020.
