Cats’ West End run extended with Kerry Ellis replacing Nicole Scherzinger
Kerry Ellis is set to join the cast of Cats, as the West End production sees its London Palladium residency extended until 25 April.
The theatre sweetheart –who previously wowed us in the West End’s Wicked – will take over the role of Grizabella from Nicole Scherzinger on 9 February.
With rave reviews under her belt, Sherzinger will wrap up her stint on the stage on 7 February.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats first opened at the New London Theatre in 1981 and is based on TS Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.
The show’s original creative team are also the brains behind today’s production – director Trevor Nunn, associate director and choreographer Gillian Lynne, designer John Napier and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The current cast also includes Cameron Ball, Kathryn Barnes, Cassie Clare, Ross Finnie, Charlene Ford, Stevie Hutchinson, Adam Lake, Paul F Monaghan, Joel Morris, Natasha Mould and Benjamin Mundy
Joining them are Antoine Murray-Straughan, Joseph Poulton, Nicholas Pound, Sophia Ragavelas, Clare Rickard, Adam Salter, Laurie Scarth, Hannah Kenna Thomas, Callum Train, Zizi Strallen, Dawn Williams, and Benjamin Yates, Ryan Gover, Barry Haywood, Alice Jane, Grace McKee, Dane Quixall and Libby Watts.
