Lin-Manuel Miranda’s record-breaking musical is gearing up to hit the West End from this November and it’s now been confirmed that Jamael Westman and Ash Hunter will share the titular role of Alexander Hamilton in the show.

Westman is fresh out of drama school RADA and his role as Hamilton will mark his West End debut. His past credits include Torn at the Royal Court, and The White Devil at Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, alongside roles in ElectraTroilus and Cressida and The Winter’s Tale.

Sharing the humungous role is Turner, whose previous credits include Pitcairn at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2014, and Light Shining in Buckinghamshire at the National Theatre.

Alongside the pair, it has also been announced that the role of King George III will be played by Michael Jibson, whose previous theatre credits include Roots at the Donmar Warehouse and Road Show. Jibson was previously nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance as Joe Casey in the Madness musical, Our House.

The trio join the previously announced Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza Schuyler, Giles Terera as Aaron Burr, Rachel John as Angelica Schuyler, Obioma Ugoala as George Washington, Christine Allado  as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, Jason Pennycooke as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Cleve September as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton and Tarinn Callender as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison.

The show broke records on Broadway last year with a mammoth 16 Tony nominations, winning 11, including Best Musical. The show was also the recipient of both the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
