Beverley Knight is returning to the West End in The Bodyguard this July
The Bodyguard is returning to the West End this July, with Beverley Knight set to revive her critically acclaimed performance.
Following a UK tour, the show – which won Best New Musical at the 2013 WhatsOnStage Awards – will open at the Dominion Theatre for a limited six month run from 15 July 2016.
Thea Sharrock’s production, based on the 1992 Oscar nominated film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, received its world premiere at Adelphi Theatre in 2012, with Beverley Knight joining the cast in 2013.
Since then, we’ve seen Knight steal the show in Memphis and Cats on the West End.
She will be joined by Rachel John (Nicki Marron), Carole Stennett (alternate Rachel Marron), Mark Holden (Bill Devaney), Alex Andreas (Tony), Dominic Taylor (Sy Spector), Matthew Stathers (Stalker) and Glen Fox (Ray Court).
Ensemble members are Faye Best, Pablo Ceresuela Torres, Carlos Ugarriza Crespo, Lisa Darnell, Charles Hagerty, Emma Joy Hopkins, Ibinabo Jack, Christopher Jeffers, Verity Jones, Phoebe Liberty, Raul Naranjo Garcia, Mary Lynn Tiep, Michael Wade-Peters, Matthew Wesley, Emmy Willow and Mark Willshire. Final casting will be announced soon.
The Bodyguard opens at London’s Dominion Theatre on 15 July, book now at Ticketmaster.co.uk.
