Beautiful: The Carole King Musical comes to Blackpool
Award-winning West End hit Beautiful is coming to Blackpool for a strictly limited run next June.
The Olivier, Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical first opened on Broadway in 2014 before transferring to London’s West End a year later.
While the show finished its West End run last month, the producers of Beautiful have confirmed that the show will head to the Opera House Blackpool from Monday 18 – Saturday 23 June 2018.
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical tells the inspiring true story of Carole King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.
Along the way, Carole King wrote the soundtrack to a generation, with countless classics such as You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman, Take Good Care Of My Baby, You’ve Got a Friend, So Far Away, Love Me Tomorrow, It Might As Well Rain Until September, Up On The Roof and Locomotion.
The show also includes the Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann hit songs You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, On Broadway and We Gotta Get Out Of This Place.
In Blackpool, Bronté Barbé will play Carole King. She’ll be joined by Kane Oliver Parry as Gerry Goffin, Amy Ellen Richardson as Cynthia Weil and Matthew Gonsalves as Barry Mann. Carol Royle will play Genie Klein and Adam Howden plays music publisher and producer Donnie Kirshner. At certain performances, Carole King will be played by Leigh Lothian.
The producers of the show said, “We are truly thrilled that Beautiful will be touring the UK next year. The response from audiences in London was amazing and we know the rest of the country will take this great show with the most wonderful songs to its heart.”
