It’s official, the race is on as tickets for the biggest sporting event of 2017, Summer of World Athletics, go on sale today.
1.5 million tickets will be available for the World ParaAthletics Championships (14 – 23 July) and IAAF World Championships London 2017 (4 – 13 August).
Some of Britain’s favourite athletes including Paula Radcliffe, Colin Jackson, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Jonnie Peacock and David Weir appear in the new campaign video, which continues the countdown to the event next summer as the world’s top athletes return to London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Some 3,300 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries will compete in 30 sessions across 20 jam-packed and action-fuelled days.
The general public ticket ballot is now open and closes at 20.17pm on 29 August 2016.
A million tickets cost £35 or less, with tickets for adults starting from just £20 for IAAF World Championships and £10 for World ParaAthletics Championships. Child tickets for all sessions cost under £10 across both Championships.
For the first time ever, there are athlete-themed ‘World Record’ ticket prices to reflect World Records set at previous IAAF World Championships. Tickets for one session at one price point will be available for: £12.91 (Colin Jackson’s 110m hurdles), £18.29 (Jonathan Edwards’ triple jump) and £52.74 (Sally Gunnell’s 400m hurdles). All children’s tickets will be priced at £9.58 (Usain Bolt’s 100m).
