Walker has sights set on British Basketball League final

Just two months into the British Basketball season, Leicester Riders forward Shane Walker has his sights set on the BBL Play-Off Final.

The world renowned event is set to take place at London’s O2 on Sunday 14 May 2017. Walker, who was on the Riders’ team that lost out to DBL Sharks Sheffield in the Play-Off Final earlier this year, is using his experience as further drive to return to the North Greenwich venue.

“The O2 is a special place – you feel it from the moment you arrive,” he explains. “You walk down the hallways and see the musicians that have performed there and you can’t help but want to leave your own little legacy when you play. It’s a top-notch facility and without a doubt the best in the UK.”

“Last year’s result wasn’t the best but it’s what drives the guys on the team this year,” he adds. “It is definitely our goal to get back on that stage and rectify that feeling.

“The Play-Offs are fun because every team is dangerous and anyone can beat anyone on their day. In British basketball, there is no bigger event than playing at The O2 on the last day of the season.”
