Saracens take on Harlequins at London Stadium
Tickets for the clash are available now.
Rugby Union’s Saracens will renew their rivalry with Harlequins at London Stadium next year.
The epic encounter is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23 March 2019, with a 15:00 kick-off.
The two sides have enjoyed some fierce encounters in recent seasons, including a narrow win for Saracens earlier in October this year, when they came from behind to snatch a 25-20 win over their South West London based rivals.
Coached by Mark McCall, North London based Saracens are the current Premiership Rugby champions and as-of-publication top this season’s table with an unbeaten record. The team play their home games at 10,000 capacity Allianz Stadium and their star players include England talisman Owen Farrell and team captain Brad Barritt.
Speaking about the game, Barritt said:
“As a group, we always relish playing at big arenas and in big matches, so we’re delighted to be returning to London Stadium to take on Harlequins. Every time we play Quins it’s a hard-fought battle and closely contested, none more so than our match at The Stoop earlier in the season. It’s exciting for us to take our challenge against them to such an iconic venue.”
Twickenham based Harlequins have had a mixed season so far. The team currently sit fifth in the Premiership Rugby table, having won five and lost one of their opening nine games. The team, who play their home games at Twickenham Stoop, are captained by Australian James Horwill and the hugely popular England International Chris Robshaw.
The encounter will be hosted at the iconic London Stadium, which hosted games at the 2015 Rugby World Cup and was the centrepiece venue of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
