The race resumes for World ParaAthletics Championships tickets

Tickets for the World ParaAthletics Championships are now on sale on a first-come, first-served basis – but you’ll have to beat the likes of Eddie Izzard, Freddie Flintoff and Sir Steve Redgrave if you want tickets

Following a hugely successful Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Great Britain’s top para-athletes are now in action in Rio, and fans can purchase tickets for next summer’s biggest sporting event now.

Taking place between 14 – 23 July 2017 in The Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, next summer’s colossal event will bring together 3,300 world-class athletes from more than 200 countries, who will compete in 30 sessions across 20 jam-packed, action-filled days. It will be a monumental time for sport, with both the World ParaAthletics Championships and the IAAF World Championships being hosted by the same city in the same summer.

The big moments from London 2012’s Paralympic Games evoke fantastic memories, and the Championships are gearing up to be the last chance to see world-class athletes such as David Weir and Richard Whitehead in competitive track action, as well as a first chance to see a host of new Paralympic champions including Georgie Hermitage, Sophie Hahn and Libby Clegg in global athletics action.

To celebrate the announcement, London 2017 Ltd have released an online video featuring celebrity cameos from the likes of sporting greats Sir Steve Redgrave, Nicola Adams and Maggie Alphonsi, plus comedy legends James Corden, Jack Whitehall and Eddie Izzard. Check it out below:
