Minimasters go to FIM Speedway Grand Prix in Melbourne
We sent Minimaster Sinaia to Melbourne’s 2017 QBE Insurance Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix to give UK audiences a flavour of what to expect – here’s what she got up to!
Two-year-old Sinaia loves motor racing, so ahead of the Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix in July, we sent her and her grandparents to the 2017 QBE Insurance Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Eithad Stadium for some behind-the-scenes action – here we catch up with her grandmother to find out more.
What was your favourite thing about the event?
Sinaia loves any motor racing because both her father and uncle currently race motorcars. Her mother has also previously raced go-karts and her grandfather raced at speedway, so Siniaia is very familiar with the atmosphere here. She even has her own little helmet which she takes to any motor racing she goes to watch.
When the bikes came out and the engines roared it was great to see the look on Siniaia’s face. She was full of excitement as this was the first time she had seen motor bikes racing. They went very fast and I think the high-octane races really enthralled here – she was worried two of the riders were going to crash at one point as they were riding so close together. It was exhilarating!
Who or what did you see?
Sinaia met Antonio Lindback from Sweden and he signed her helmet. He was very approachable and Sinaia followed him in all his races – it was such a great experience for her to meet him!
Why do you think families should book tickets for this event?
It was a great night out and Sinaia really enjoyed herself, she kept saying “more, more!”, and it will definitely be going back next year.
