Mark Cavendish to compete again at Six Day London

Mark Cavendish will return to the boards this summer at Six Day London.

Cavendish competed at last year’s event alongside Sir Bradley Wiggins. “Taking on Six Day London with Brad last year was an unforgettable experience,” he recalls, “it was our last event together in this country and going out in front of full crowds for six nights was immense. It’s easily the best track cycling event in the UK and the best part of it is that it’s only two years old. The organisers want to make it the best it can be and I want to help them do that.”

With this year’s partner yet to be decided, Cavendish has hinted that he has some people in mind. “Whoever it is has got big shoes to step into,” he adds. The pair will be aiming to go one step further than last year, having lost out to Belgian victors Kenny de Ketele and Moreno de Pauw in 2016.

Six Day London will take place from the 24 – 29 October 2017 at Lee Valley Velopark on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. Each day mixes competitive cycling with a celebratory atmosphere, from live DJs to food, drink and entertainment.
