Highlights of the night

The first highlight of the night was the professional fight between the London lad Ahmet Patterson fighting out of Dulwich and Dudley-based Ryan Aston. Both fighters started off slow, exchanging only a few punches with plenty of movement. That quickly changed in the second round with Patterson pushing forward to rock Aston and continued to attack in the third and fourth round. The game plan worked for Patterson as he won a TKO stoppage in the 6th round. Patterson now has an unbeaten record of 17-0 and a brand new belt for his collection, he’s definitely one to watch!

British Featherweight Championship Title Fight

The main fight of the night was between Norwich-based Ryan Walsh and Aberdeen’s Darren Traynor, this was the first defence from Walsh of his British Featherweight title. Walsh, definitely had the crowd behind him as you can see in his walkout video below:

The bout started off well with the unbeaten Traynor challenging Walsh straight away using his height as an advantage to keep Walsh at bay but as it progressed, the Norwich Farmer found a way to start challenging the Scot. Credit to the travelling Norwich fans they kept the atmosphere going throughout each round. Walsh used his knockout power to end the fight emphatically to retain his British title as he almost knocked Traynor out of the ring in the 5th round.

The next Frank Warren promotion will be a battle of The North West when Terry Flanaghan fights rival Derry Matthews to defend his WBO Lightweight Championship at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Saturday 13 February – get your tickets now
