Big Game 12 off-pitch entertainment announced
Harlequins take on Leicester Tigers at Twickenham on Saturday 28 December 2019.
With less than a month to go until Harlequins take on Leicester Tigers in Big Game 12, organisers have confirmed plans for this year’s off-field entertainment.
The hotly anticipated Rugby Union match-up takes place at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 28 December. Kick-off is at 16:30 and the match will be followed by Harlequins Women taking on Leinster Women.
A fixture of the festive Rugby calendar, the annual Big Game sees Harlequins play a regular season game at Twickenham Stadium, raising money for their Harlequins Foundation. Last year’s Big Game saw the South West London team defeat Wasps 20-13.
Organisers have now confirmed that Love Island’s The Mac Twins, AKA Alana and Lisa Macfarlane will perform a DJ set at both pre-match and at half time, accompanied by a spectacular light show.
The Mac Twins comment: “We’re absolutely buzzing to be kicking off Rugby’s Biggest Party at Big Game 12 this December. Playing in front of 80,000 people at Twickenham is a gig we jumped at the chance to do – having been in Japan for the World Cup we are new rugby fans and absolutely can’t wait to party and keep everyone’s Christmases going”.
Getting the crowd amped up ahead of the men’s and women’s matches, Massaoke will also entertain in the stadium bowl, leading supporters in a huge karaoke singalong with tracks chosen by fans and players.
“We’re delighted to be invited to perform at Twickenham Stadium once again after performing here at the Rugby World Cup final in 2015”, comments Massaoke drummer Bat.
Big Game 12 is sure to be an entertaining match up. At the time of writing, Harlequins, led by captain Chris Robshaw are currently fifth in the league table and take on a Tigers team who currently sit in eleventh.
