Musical guests for BBC SPOTY 2018 announced
You can attend the glitzy ceremony in Birmingham this December.
The musical guests for his year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year have been announced.
The final batch of tickets are now on sale for the ceremony, taking place in Birmingham on Sunday 16 December 2018.
George Ezra, Paloma Faith, The Lightning Seeds and Freya Ridings will take to the stage when the BBC celebrates the best sporting achievements of 2018.
BBC’s Sport’s Personality of the Year ceremony first took place in 1954. Since then the annual event has handed out thousands of awards, to those who have achieved success in their chosen sport. There are currently eight awards up for grabs, including Team Of The Year, Coach Of The Year and the Unsung Hero award as well as the main prize of BBC Sports Personality of the Year. The current holder of the main award is long-distance runner Mo Farah.
The 2018 ceremony will be hosted by Gabby Logan, Gary Lineker and Clare Balding.
With his second album Staying At Tamara’s hitting No.1 on the charts, George Ezra will perform live at the ceremony for the first ever time.
Also taking to the stage will be Paloma Faith, whose latest album The Architect also hit the top spot on the charts.
Ticketmaster New For ’19 pick Freya Ridings will perform her wildly successful debut single Lost Without You to the Birmingham crowd.
Looking back on a successful world-cup campaign for England’s football team, The Lightning Seeds will be taking us back to the summer with a special performance of their iconic anthem Three Lions.
Ticket holders will also be treated to a special pre-show performance from comic Des Clarke, and athlete and singer Jazmin Sawyers.
