This May bank holiday, FIA World Rallycross will take over Silverstone with a whole host of big name music acts, family fun and sumptuous food also on offer.

Fans will experience overdrive from 25 – 27 May at this first of its kind motorsports festival that unites World Rallycross with behind-the-wheel access, test drives, Esports, live music, street food, camping and much, much more…

Here is our guide to Speedmachine, and remember all the attractions are included in one ticket price.

What is the Rallycross?

Head-to-head, short sharp racing on mixed surfaces (dirt and asphalt) will be showcased in an ampitheatre venue.

Some of the world’s greatest drivers – including World Rally Champions Petter Solberg and Sebastien Loeb and DTM star Mattias Ekstrom – are equipped with rallycross Supercars producing over 600bhp and able to accelerate from 0-60mph in less than two seconds. That’s faster than a Formula 1 car!

Race meetings include four action-packed qualifying heats (Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4) with the top 12 drivers progressing through to knock-out semi-finals and a final.

What about the music?

After the adrenaline rush of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Silverstone will come alive at night on the Main Stage where Speedmachine will host legendary acts as they make their UK debuts performing at hallowed course.

On Friday night, the iconic Ministry of Sound takes over Silverstone, with huge tunes playing into the night. Saturday sees Dizzee Rascal, Razorlight, The Fedz, Killa Kela, DJ BBQ headlining a huge evening of music and the party continues on Sunday night with a DJ set from the incredible Basement Jaxx, plus performances from the likes of Lethal Bizzle, Craig Charles and Dat Bras.

What else is on offer?

As well as incredible music and racing, Speedmachine Festival also gives you access to test drives on the Silverstone circuit (on the day first come, first served basis), access to the World Rallycross & RX2 paddock, on track displays of rally and rallycross cars – including RX2, Group B, Monster Energy Drift, Ultra 4 and Cannon Run – and iconic displays of car collections from Pikes Peak, Colin Mcrae, Prodrive, Players, Supercars, BGM Sports.

You can also catch the DiRT 4 World Championship Live Final, take on the challenge of passenger drift experiences, test your skills on racing simulators, plus much more still to be announced!

You won’t go hungry either, as Speedmachine offers a stunning collection of the UK’s best street food and food truck feasts. The specially curated line-up includes the likes of Mac to the Future, DJ BBQ, Beefy Boys, Crabbies Shack, Otherside Fried, Made of Dough, Earl’s, Le Bao, My Pie and so many more…
