Rival Schools announce first shows in nine years

The Walter Schriefels-fronted post-hardcore outfit play London next summer

NYC post-hardcore heroes Rival Schools have announced a 2023 reunion to (belatedly) mark the 20th anniversary of their seminal album United By Fate.

The tour will include shows in LA, New York, Germany, The Netherlands and the UK, including a headline show at London’s Electric Ballroom in July 2023. The band confirmed in an Instagram post that the shows will feature the original line-up of Walter Schriefels, Ian Love, Cache Tolman and Sam Siegler. A deluxe reissue of United By Fate is set for release this October on Run For Cover Records.

Former Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand frontman and Youth Of Today bassist Schriefels formed Rival Schools in 2001 alongside his former Youth Of Today bandmate Sam Siegler, Iceburn bassist Cache Tolman, and guitarist Ian Love. Their debut United By Fate arrived in 2001 to critical acclaim and featured the singles ‘Used For Glue’ and ‘Good Things’. Their last show prior to this latest reunion was at Brixton Academy in November 2013.
