Reading and Leeds Festival announce a major update for 2025

This is being called the biggest upgrade in the festival’s history

Reading and Leeds Festival have announced a huge update to their camping facilities, adding a ton of features that will excited festivalgoers. The update sees a long list of changes being rolled out that are designed to provide a more positive experience for every camper at the festival, not just VIPs.

The first of the changes sees the dual festival adding vacuum toilets to every campsite, with fresh water handwash basins, liquid soap and mirrors. These toilets will not only provide a better experience, but will also use 75% less water than flushing toilets and lower the festival’s carbon footprint with less vehicle movements. The Meadow goes the extra mile for sustainability, with that campsite in particular using sawdust toilets that require no water or chemicals and produce usable compost.

Looking good on festival grounds is now easier than ever, with the festival adding more showers to every campsite along with new free-to-use Get Ready With Me stations. These stations will come complete with mirrors, plug sockets and essential toiletries, so you can now use your hair tools and perfect your makeup look on festival grounds.

This year also sees the festival rolling out five unique campsite options. The familiar Fields will still be there for those on standard Weekend tickets, but for those looking to book an upgrade, there are some exciting new choices:

  • The Garden is for those wanting a calmer space, with limited noise after 1am, replacing the Quiet Camp with a bespoke camping experience that also offers yoga and meditation classes, film screenings and wellness sessions.
  • The Meadow is for more environmentally conscious festivalgoers who want to stay among likeminded individuals. Those staying in the Meadow pledge to keep it tidy and take their tents home, and will have access to sustainability talks, clothes swaps, yoga and even upcycling workshops.
  • The Grove is all about community and connection, creating an inclusive, safe and accepting environment. In partner with Safer Spaces Now CIC, The Grove is supported by gender-inclusive teams, and guests will have access to open mic sessions, film screenings, karaoke, and other creative activities.
  • The Valley is for those flying solo or in a pair who are keen to find their people. This social camp facilitates making new friendships and finding your Reading & Leeds crew with icebreakers, games and Find Your Pal sessions. It also houses the Link Up Lounge, which creates even more opportunities for meeting new people.
