New Music: Mosa Wild discuss their new single Night
We spoke to the indie makers about the track, and why they began making music.
Following their set on the Ticketmaster New Music stage at this year’s The Great Escape Festival, indie rockers Mosa Wild sit down to discuss the meaning of their new single Night, and what fans can expect from the band in the near future.
Some bands just make it look so effortless. Whilst deep down you know that Mosa Wild have put a humongous amount of work into their craft, it’s fun to imagine that everything comes naturally to them; that they just meet up in a rehearsal space, plug in their instruments and a tidal wave of sweet sounds emerges from the speakers.
Hailing from Ashford, Kent and comprised of lead vocalist Jim Rubaduka, guitarist Alex Stevens, bassist Edwin Ireland and drummer Charlie Campbell, the band make soothing atmospheric indie pop built around Rubaduka’s super catchy vocal lines.
Earlier this year the band recently dropped their latest track Night online. Only their second ever release, the tune has already attracted praise from publications such as The Independent and The Line Of Best Fit.
Night is built on an immediately compelling melody which elevates the song and undoubtedly ensures the band stand out from the crowd. Sonically, Mosa Wild are influenced by bands such as Vampire Weekend and The Maccabees, but there’s a sense they have a keen appreciation for Pet Sounds era The Beach Boys.

Night is taken from the band’s upcoming debut EP Talking In Circles, which is due for release via Glassnote Records this summer, produced by Jim Abbiss, the man behind Arctic Monkey’s record-breaking debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.
The debut EP also sees the band team up with highly regarded producer James Kenosha. (Pulled Apart By Horses, Dry The River)
Night is the band’s first single release since their debut track Smoke in 2016, itself streamed over 8 million times on Spotify alone. The strength of the tune earned the band a global record deal with indie powerhouse Glassnote Records (CHVRCHES, Two Door Cinema Club, Mumford & Sons)
Building their live reputation, Mosa Wild performed on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds in 2017 and more recently supported the Pharrell discovered Maggie Rogers on tour across Europe.
In April 2019 the band performed their first ever London headline show, selling out Stoke Newington’s The Waiting Room.
The band also made an appearance on the Ticketmaster New Music stage at the most recent The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, as they prepare to release their debut EP Talking In Circles slightly later on in the year.
