The first weekend of November is the perfect time to get out and have some fun.
And cities across the UK are offering up a variety of events – from a West End opening to the MOBO Awards and WWE Live – that are sure to entice you. Live music performances abound (like Jack Garratt’s tour kicking off!)… plus, enjoy a major rugby rivalry that’s got over six decades of history wrapped up in it!
The SSE Arena, Wembley
Your favourite WWE Superstars are back in the UK and ready to kick some arse. We can’t wait to see Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, The New Day, Sheamus and many more in action. WWE Live opens tonight in London before going to Manchester Arena on 5 November and to both Leeds’ First Direct Arena and Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on 6 November.
An Inspector Calls
Opens 4 November
Inspector Goole is about to arrive unexpectedly at the Birling family dinner. Make sure you’re in the audience when things go pear-shaped. Considered the theatrical event of a generation, this classical thriller returns to the West End tonight for a limited run and it’s more relevant now than ever.
Barbarians v South Africa
Rugby fans, the time has finally arrived! The eagerly awaited clash between the BaaBaas and Springboks for the Killik Cup is here. When the two teams last met in 2010, the Barbarians triumphed by 26-20 – and we’re hoping for a repeat.
Jimmy Eat World
With their ninth studio album Integrity Blues released just last month, the Arizona rockers will be in fine form as they make a stop in London on Saturday night, the day after opening their worldwide tour at Southampton Guildhall.
Corinne Bailey Rae
O2 Institute Birmingham Albert Hall
After smashing it over the summer at Glastonbury, British Summer Time and V Festival, the soul-rooted yet contemporary R&B singer is in the middle of her first UK tour in five years. In support of her new album The Heart Speaks in Whispers, Rae is performing in Birmingham today and then heading to Manchester’s Albert Hall on Saturday night.
Indie rock band Bastille are playing their biggest Manchester show to date. Don’t miss seeing the South London five-piece perform songs from their new album Wild World and from their chart-topping debut album Bad Blood.
The SSE Hydro
Happy birthday, MOBO Awards! The show is celebrating its 21st anniversary with an incredible line-up of show-stopping acts. Tinie Tempah, Popcaan, Lady Leshurr, Craig David, Laura Mvula, Chase & Status, Clean Bandit and many more are scheduled to appear tonight.
UCI Track Cycling World Cup
4 – 6 October
Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome
This is an event we’re really excited about! The UCI Track Cycling World Cup series is returning to Glasgow. Watch the Great Britain Cycling Team compete on home soil for the first time following the 2016 Rio Olympics.
O2 Academy Glasgow
Jack Garratt’s had quite a year. Not only has he released his acclaimed debut album Phase, but the singer-songwriter has also won a BRIT Critics’ Choice Award and topped the BBC Sound of Music 2016 poll… and now he’s embarking on a massive UK tour!
Million Dollar Quartet
Until 5 October
This smash hit musical will take you on a nostalgia trip. The touring production of Million Dollar Quartet lets you witness the legendary jam session at Sun Records in Memphis that brought Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins together for their first and only time. Although it’s a recreation, the atmosphere on stage among these rock’n’roll icons feels electric!
