Having claimed victory at last year’s Fireball Hottest Band competition, Thieves of Liberty return to the road when the Fireball: Fuelling The Fire tour runs across the UK in late September 2019.

The tour will welcome co-headliners Less Than Jake and Goldfinger, as well as the return of ska-punk legends Save Ferris. The line-up will be completed by this year’s Fireball Hottest Band winner.

Thieves of Liberty deliver self-described fun-rock, led by Lidya Balaban on vocals and rhythm guitar. She’s joined by lead guitarist Kieran Wilson, bassist Simeon Robson and drummer Connor Henderson.

To date, the four-piece have released two singles, Wearing You Out and Medicine Wizard, both driven by upbeat guitars celebrating traditional rock and roll with a modern edge.

With the Fireball: Fuelling The Fire tour set to kick off in Sheffield on 19 September 2019, and including a date at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, Thieves of Liberty give an insight into life on the road. Check out their tour bus playlist below.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – The Impression That I Get
“Opening the show for these guys in London was an experience we’ll never forget and the standout song of the set for us was this one. Every time it comes on somewhere we all go mad since it reminds us of that gig and the fact their singer Dicky Barrett was wearing our band t-shirt for their encore which is crazy!”

Halestorm – Love Bites
“We’re always getting compared to Halestorm which we definitely don’t mind since we’re big fans of theirs. Lidya looks up to Lzzy Hale as a role model and their music always gets us going.”

Royal Republic – Undercover
“It’s one of those songs that no matter how bad your day has been it’ll still make you want to dance and sing along and that’s definitely the kind of energy we want on the bus.” – Lidya

Alter Bridge – Rise Today
“Alter Bridge were one of the first bands to inspire me to play the guitar when I was about 13. I’ll even be rocking a Mark Tremonti signature PRS on tour. This song, in particular, has such a strong message and a great, uplifting vibe to it which always pumps me up.” – Kieran

Shinedown – Black Cadillac
“I’ve been a fan of Shinedown since the album Sound of Madness but this tune from Threat to Survival gets me every time I hear it, I’m always in a great mood after it’s been on and it’ll give me the energy I need to get through the tour!” – Sim

Black Stone Cherry – Such A Shame
“It’s a little on the heavier side but it drives my creativity when writing. I’ll usually start with a heavy riff that’s inspired by Black Stone Cherry’s sound, and it’ll change as we get together as a band and jam it. But no matter how it changes over time I’ll always remember where the original idea came from. That in-your-face riff-based rock sound; it’s awesome!” – Connor
