The National announce special London headline shows

The band will headline O2 Academy Brixton on two consecutive nights this June.

The National have announced details of two special London shows taking place this summer.

Promising two unique sets, the shows will see the Grammy Award-winning band take to the stage at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 1 and 2 June 2020.

Consisting of Matt Berninger (vocals), Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, piano), Bryce Dessner (guitar, piano), Scott Devendorf (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums), The National have been releasing music for almost two decades, selling over 1.7 million albums across the globe.

The band released their debut album The National in 2001, and have since followed the eponymous record with the release of seven LPs: Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers, Alligator, Boxer, High Violet, Trouble Will Find Me, Sleep Well Beast and 2019’s I Am Easy To Find 

Sleep Well Beast debuted at No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart and earned the band the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

Some of the band’s best-known tracks include Fake Empire, This Is The Last Time, The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness, About Today and I Need My Girl.

The National are recognised as one of modern rock music’s most successful live acts, regular playing sold out shows in arenas across the world.

The band have also performed high on the bill at music festivals such as British Summer Time, Latitude and Glastonbury.

The National have also participated in various other projects, such as their Golden Globe-nominated work on the Leondardo DeCaprio thriller The Revenant, as well as charitable and socio-political work such as the artistic statement A Lot of Sorrow, a collaboration with the installation artist Ragnar Kjartansson.
