They'll join The Cure and Foo Fighters in Glasgow this summer.
The organisers of Glasgow Summer Sessions have today confirmed their third headliner for 2019’s festival will be The 1975.
Since breaking through with the debut self-titled album in 2013, The 1975 have become one of the biggest rock bands the UK has produced in the last decade. The debut album, which features tracks such as Girls, Sex, Chocolate and Robbers topped the Official UK Albums Chart on release and received rave reviews.
The follow up to The 1975 cemented the band’s place as one of the biggest bands in the world. 2016’s I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, topped the albums chart in both the US and UK on release and made The 1975 an arena-sized touring act. Featuring the singles Love Me, Urgh and The Sound, the album earned the band their first-ever Grammy Award nomination.
The quartet are currently gearing up for the release of their third studio album A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. The record is due for release on Friday 30 November 2018 and has already received rave reviews. The NME gave the album five stars out of five, describing it as “a magpie pop masterpiece.” The band have released five tracks from the record so far, including Love It If We made It, Sincerity Is Scary and Give Yourself a Try.
The band have already announced the follow-up to A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships entitled Notes on a Conditional Form will drop in Spring 2019.
The 1975 are known for their visually stunning live performances, selling out arenas across the globe and playing festivals such as TRNSMT, Reading and Leeds and Glastonbury.
