Tame Impala to headline Citadel Festival

Citadel will be the only place to catch the band live in the UK this year.

Australian psyche-rockers Tame Impala have been confirmed as headliners for Citadel 2018, taking place on Sunday 15 July in its new home of West London’s Gunnersbury Park.

The performance will be the only chance to catch the bands live in the UK this year, and marks their first show in London since selling out two nights at Alexandra Palace at the start of 2016.

The Kevin Parker fronted band have drawn a cult following, becoming one of the biggest bands on the planet following the release of their third studio album Currents. Among other tracks, the album spawned the massive critically lauded Let It Happen and Eventually.

This year marks the fourth edition of Citadel, which launched in 2015 to deliver the ultimate summer Sunday. Past headliners have included Ben Howard and Sigur Ros, with last year’s event placing Foals at the top of the bill.

The festival blends together music, theatre, arts, talks and workshops, with many more bands, attractions and entertainment to be confirmed in the near future.

Tickets for Citadel Festival will be available from Monday 12 February 2018 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
