Slipknot will bring their music, art and culture festival KNOTFEST to the UK for the first time next year.

Curated and headlined by the pioneering metallers, KNOTFEST UK will takeover The National Bowl, Milton Keynes on Saturday 22 August 2020.

The band have unveiled a new twenty-minute short film directed by Slipknot member M. Shawn Crahan, AKA Clown. The film is built around their official video for Nero Forte, taken from their Grammy Award winning, UK No.1 record, We Are Not Your Kind.

“I set out to make a short film that makes you question your own existence, here in this reality,” Crahan says. “When you lay down in your bed, next to the one you love, do you ever ask yourself – is it possible that this person could slit my throat while I’m sleeping? Enjoy. Pollution is everywhere.”

Slipknot are currently gearing up for a UK headline tour in celebration of their sixth studio album.

Released back in August, We Are Not Your Kind was recorded at the EastWest Studios in Hollywood, California with producer Greg Fidelman, who also worked on their 2014 LP .5 The Grey Chapter and 2004’s Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses).

A commercial smash, the record debuted at No.1 on both the US and UK albums charts.

The masked metallers first broke through with their self-titled album in 2001, quickly establishing themselves as one of the most ferocious and important forces in rock music.

Some of the Iowa formed band’s best-known tracks include Duality, Wait and Bleed, Before I Forget, The Negative One and Unsainted.

In 2012 the band founded their own festival called KNOTFEST, taking full creative control over which artists were invited to perform.

The first events were held in Iowa and Wisconsin that summer, where Slipknot were joined by bands such as Deftones, Lamb Of God and Machine Head.

Since the inaugural KNOTFEST, the band have brought the concept to California, Japan, Mexico, France and Colombia.

2020 will see KNOTFEST expand further with the first ever KNOTFEST AT SEA, departing from Barcelona, Spain, as well as KNOTFEST United Kington.

More artists for KNOTFEST UK will be announced early next year.
