Royal Blood, Alt-J, Mark Ronson and 1D bag BRIT Awards nominations
It’s safe to assume Royal Blood’s ears are burning after last night’s BRIT Awards nominations announcement.
The unstoppable rock duo are favourites to triumph at the 2015 ceremony, having been nominated for three awards at next month’s event.
In the Best British Group category, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher face stiff competition from One Direction and Coldplay, while Alt-J join them with both best group and Best British Album of the Year nominations. Chvrches and FKA Twigs are nominated alongside Royal Blood for Best British Breakthrough Act.
Sam Smith also collected five nominations at last night’s announcement party, while Ed Sheeran and George Ezra are up for four awards each.
Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk bagged him a spot in the Best Single category. Which, if anything, gives us a legitimate excuse to play it at least twelve more times each day…?
