Review: Peace perform at intimate Skullcandy #STAYLOUD event

With a helping hand from indie rockers, Peace, Hammersmith Palais hosts the first in a string of Skullcandy #STAYLOUD events taking place across Europe in 2015.

The primary focus of the Skullcandy series is to bring venues back to life after they’ve either shut down or changed function. With absolutely no hesitation, I can say the Hammersmith Palais (which has since been renovated into a gym) was successfully revived by the brilliance of this British quartet.

One last night to #STAYLOUD - London | Skullcandy

Back in its prime during the ’70s and ’80s, this West London venue hosted everyone from The Beatles and The Cure, to The Who and David Bowie. Now, as the basement floor swirls with excitement, we watch as the UK newcomers cause a similar kind of stir for their generation.

The only opportunity to attend the gig was through winning tickets, leaving the luckiest fans to dance their way through the best bits of 2013’s In Love and 2015’s Happy People.

For me, it was Gen Strange that stuck in my head all the way home, have a listen below.
