Liam Gallagher is the first name to be announced for Reading and Leeds Festival 2020.
The Mancunian icon will headline across both sites come August 2020, with the remaining line-up and day splits expected to be revealed in the near future.
The announcement comes as Gallagher rounds off his arena tour across the UK at London’s The O2, and as he sells out his forthcoming homecoming show at Heaton Park in Manchester.
Reading and Leeds Festival will take place from 28 – 30 August 2020 at Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park respectively.
Rising to fame in the internationally acclaimed Oasis and subsequently fronting Beady Eye, Liam Gallagher launched his solo career with his As You Were debut in 2017. His sophomore solo album, Why Me? Why Not. hit the No.1 spot on the UK chart upon release earlier in 2019.
The album has spawned singles Shockwave, The River, Once, One Of Us and Now That I’ve Found You.
Liam Gallagher’s Reading and Leeds Festival appearance will mark his third, having previously appeared solo on the main stage in 2017 ahead of headliners Muse. He also topped the bill as part of Oasis in 2000 on a bill that also saw Pulp and Stereophonic take the top slots.
Last year, Reading and Leeds witnessed storming headline sets by The 1975, Post Malone, Twenty One Pilots, and Foo Fighters.
