Cowboy boots at the ready – here’s your perfect country playlist
With Country to Country Festival less than a month away and a year full of great country music shows ahead of us, we created a playlist to sweeten the wait.
There are so many amazing country shows happening this year from Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town to The Shires and Thomas Rhett. There’s something for everyone, so saddle up and crank the speakers:
Miranda Lambert – We Should be Friends
Country queen Miranda Lambert is back with a kick-ass new album The Weight Of These Wings. After a whirlwind of a year, the singer will be back on the road this summer and the tour will see her stopping over in the UK. Make sure you don’t miss her! Tickets on sale now via Ticketmaster.co.uk.
Brad Paisley – Country Nation
It’s been almost 20 years since Brad Paisley first stumbled onto the country music scene and now we can’t imagine it without him. The West Virginia native will be headlining the UK’s Country to Country Festival next month and we’ve a few limited tickets left, so be quick!
Little Big Town – Sober
Little Big Town first formed in 1998 and have since gone on to win multiple awards including a GRAMMY for their single Little White Church. Their latest album is released next week, just in time or their upcoming UK tour this October. Don’t miss them and secure your tickets today.
The Shires – State Lines
The UK’s hottest country music duo, The Shires, are taking the world by storm, with both their albums reaching the UK’s Top 10. You really need to see these two live on stage as their tour kicks off in April. Tickets available via Ticketmaster.co.uk.
Luke Bryan – Drunk On You
Luke began his career writing songs for his highschool friends and has since released five studio albums which cemented his status as country superstar. Luke, if you read this, come visit us in the UK again soon, yeah?
Thomas Rhett – American Spirit
Son of country singer Rhett Atkins, Thomas Rhett has more than made a name for himself with his songwriting skills, securing a recent GRAMMY nomination. After a UK tour just last autumn, Thomas can’t get enough of our island, and is back on these shores in November. Tickets are on sale now.
Whiskey Myers – Anna Marie
Let’s get a bit rocky for a minute (or three) with Southern rockers Whiskey Myers. The Texas-based group are known for their red dirt country music. So grab your tickets now from yours truly.
Carrie Underwood – Two Black Cadillacs
You can’t have a country playlist without the ulimate country princess. Carrie Underwood has gone from strength to strength since her first appearance on American Idol in 2005. With her last album out in 2015 we’re hoping for some new music very soon and maybe a cheeky UK tour?
Ward Thomas – Carry You Home
British country music is growing faster and faster each year. It’s no surprise with the immense talents that are behind it, including Hampshire sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas. Who’s going to go see them live on their tour this May? If you’re in need of tickets, we can help right here.
Zac Brown Band – Knee Deep (ft. Jimmy Buffett)
Based in Atlanta, Zac Brown Band will give you all the classic country feels you could ask for, and what’s even better they’re also headlining Country to Country Festival this year. If you want to catch them in action head to Ticketmaster.co.uk for tickets.
Sam Palladio & Clare Bowen – It Ain’t Yours To Throw Away
It’s safe to say we are pretty obsessed with US TV show Nashville. A TV show all about your favourite genre? Yes, please! It also kind of makes us want to live in Nashville, TN. But until we can make that happen the stars of the show are coming our way to bring us their huge talents live. Nashville in Concert will feature Clare Bowen, Chris Carmack, Charles Esten and Jonathan Jackson, and for some dates Sam Palladio will join the gang. See you there? Deal! Tickets on sale this Friday via Ticketmaster.co.uk.
Dolly Parton & Pentatonix – Jolene
Even if you’re not into country music, you’ll probably still love Dolly Parton! A little while ago she recorded her classic tune Jolene with American a capella group Pentatonix and we LOVE it… although we can’t decide which version we like best, the original, the duet with god-daughter Miley Cyrus or this Pentatonix collaboration.
