Paul Weller has confirmed details of a forthcoming UK tour.

The new run of dates kicks off in Cambridge on 1 May 2020, and will also see the legendary musician perform headline gigs in Norwich, Margate, Southend, Oxford, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Llandudno, Liverpool, Stoke-on-Trent and Portsmouth.

The announcement marks his first headline run since 2017 and comes as the musician is currently in the studio working on new music.

Born in Woking, Surrey, Paul Weller first found success as the frontman of punk rockers The Jam.

Formed in 1972, The Jam released 18 consecutive top 40 singles between their formation and eventual break up in 1982.

Some of their best-known tracks include That’s Entertainment, All Around The World, News Of The World, Going Underground, Start! and the ode to Weller’s hometown, Town Called Malice.

Shortly after the break up of The Jam, Weller alongside former Dexys Midnight Runners keyboardist Mick Talbot went on to form the pop-rock band The Style Council.

Incorporating a more soulful sound, The Style Council released five studio albums between 1983 and 1988, including the 1985 UK No.1 record Our Favourite Shop.

After the dissolution of The Style Council, Weller launched his solo career in 1992 with his eponymous debut album.

The music icon has since released 13 studio albums under his own name, with his latest, 2018’s True Meanings earning huge critical and commercial success.

Some of the most well-known tracks from his solo career include The Changingman, Wishing On A Star, From The Floorboards Up, Broken Stone and You Do Something To Me.
