Noel Gallagher announces UK tour dates
The chief hits the road this spring.
Noel Gallagher has announced a host of brand new tour dates, ahead of his huge homecoming show at Heaton Park, Manchester on Friday 7 June 2019.
The newly announced all-seated shows will see Noel take to the stage in Edinburgh, Llandudno, London and Hull this May.
Currently recording new material in London and Los Angeles, the newly announced shows will see Noel perform with his 11 piece line up in intimate surroundings, with new music is likely to get an airing.
A British music icon, Noel Gallagher first came to worldwide attention as the lead guitarist and principal songwriter in the multi-platinum selling Manchester rock band Oasis.
Throughout their eighteen year existence, Oasis released seven full-length studio albums, all of which debuted at No.1 on the Official UK Albums chart. The band disbanded unceremoniously backstage at a festival in Paris in 2009.
With over 25 Top 10 singles to their name, some of Oasis’ biggest hits include Don’t Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall, Live Forever, Lyla, and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
After the tumultuous end to Oasis, Noel set about working on his debut solo album. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds was released in 2011, with Noel using the album title as the moniker for his new band. The album, featuring the singles The Death of You and Me, If I Had a Gun…, What A Life, Dream On and Everybody’s On The Run debuted at No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart, becoming Gallagher’s eighth to do so.
Noel has subsequently released two more studio albums under the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds banner, 2015’s Chasing Yesterday and 2017’s Who Built the Moon?.
Who Built the Moon? saw the celebrated songwriter collaborate with Irish producer and composer David Holmes for the first time. Rather than bringing already completed tracks to the studio sessions, Noel would bring ideas and he and Holmes would work on them together. The result was a more vibrant and psychedelic record than Gallagher had ever produced before.
The lead single from the former Oasis man’s latest album Who Built the Moon? is the supremely catchy Holy Mountain. Watch the video for the track below:
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have played some of the largest and most prestigious venues in the world including the Royal Albert Hall, The O2 in London, Manchester Arena and Twickenham Stadium. The last time Noel and his band played in Manchester was at an intimate performance at the 1500 capacity O2 Ritz Manchester. Tickets sold-out instantly.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds hit the road later this year, with a huge back catalogue of Oasis songs to pick from, as well as three albums worth of highly regarded solo material.
