I Am Not A Dog On A Chain is the maverick musician’s 13th solo effort, and was produced by the Grammy Award-winning producer Joe Chicarelli. (Beck, The Strokes, The Killers)

Rising to prominence in 1982 as lead singer of indie giants The Smiths – a band which he established with fellow musicians Johnny Marr and later Andy Rouke and Mike Joyce – the outspoken Morrissey was known for his unconventional baritone vocals.

Going solo in 1988, after his departure from The Smiths in ’87 due to personal differences between Mozza and Marr, the Charming Man singer has gone on to release twelve solo albums, including Viva Hate in ’88, Southpaw Grammar in ’95 and You Are The Quarry in ’04. The latter followed his stint of living in Los Angeles.

He has also released several books on film and music throughout his career, as well as an autobiography in 2013, and his first fictional novel titled List of the Lost in 2015.

The star is often hailed as one of the greatest lyricists in British history, with his lyrics being the subject of academic studies.
